Michael is a BSc (Hons) trained Quantity Surveyor & MSc (Hons) trained BIM Manager with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Originally from Cork in Ireland, Michael began his professional career as a graduate in Dublin in 2007 and then migrated to Australia in 2009, initially Michael worked on a major civils project in Brisbane and then in 2011 Michael moved to Perth where be began working FIFO on several large projects, namely Pluto LNG, T155 iron ore, Yarnima gas power station & the Ichthys Project.
Further to this Michael has spent time working in Adelaide, Tasmania, Jakarta, San Francisco and Darwin, these locations included a rather wide range of other projects, such as the rejuvenation of Nrystars Port Pirie lead smelter plant, the NBN roll-out in Tasmania, the Lincoln centre project in Foster city California, numerous Apple flagship stores and the Ichthys LNG project in Darwin.
Michael’s experience includes roles such as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Manager, Contract Engineer, Project Controls and often a de-facto Claims Advisor. Given the unique skillset of a Quantity Surveyor, Michael has been able to adapt seamlessly between one role to the next depending on the needs of the project.
Michael is an expert with large data using OST, excel and other bespoke software platforms to manage this data. Michael has lead teams in remeasuring large mining projects and has independently measured, priced, and tracked the progress, changes and payments of a wide range of projects.
